Jennifer Ellis, a Bay Area native, graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a
Bachelors degree in Law and Society in 2001. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2006 from Golden
Gate University of Law. She was admitted to the California Bar in 2006.
In 2004, Ms. Ellis was the recipient of the CALI Excellence Award for Appellate Advocacy. Ms. Ellis is
member of her university’s Moot Court team and acts as a recurring judge for current Moot Court team
members. Ms. Ellis was also a semi-finalist Mock Trial participant.
In the spring of 2005, Ms. Ellis externed for Honorable Maria-Elena James, for the Northern District of
California. In the summer of 2005, Ms. Ellis clerked for the Department of Veteran Affairs in San
Francisco, primarily working in the areas of employment litigation and medical malpractice.
Ms. Ellis joined The Goldman Law Firm as an associate in February 2007 where she is developing
her practice in the areas of employment and business litigation. Ms. Ellis co-chaired her first jury trial
in a business litigation matter in Alameda County Superior Court in August of 2009. Ms. Ellis regularly
appears before various Administrative Law tribunals. She also advises small healthcare practice
owners in employment and business matters. In addition, Ms. Ellis drafts office policy manuals,
employment documents and business contracts, primarily for small healthcare practices. Upon
invitation of dental societies and study groups, Ms. Ellis will be presenting a series of lectures on
business and employment law for healthcare business owners and employers in 2010.
Ms. Ellis is currently a member of the Labor and Employment Section with the California State Bar and
the Marin Bar Association. Ms. Ellis is also on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid of Marin.
Ms. Ellis enjoys practicing yoga as well as law and loves water sports, especially scuba diving.
