AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION V. DELTA DENTAL OF CALIFORNIA (NOVEMBER 2019)

Plaintiffs American Dental Association, Peppy Dental, and Janis B. Moriarty, DMD, filed a lawsuit against Delta Dental of California and related Delta Dental entities in United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, in 2019. The class action complaint alleged that Delta Dental engaged in a market allocation scheme and price fixing representing a restraint of trade, and requested nationwide injunctive relief and monetary damages for violations of the Sherman Act and Clayton Act.

CDA & ADA LAWSUITS AGAINST DELTA DENTAL OF CALIFORNIA

Plaintiff California Dental Association filed an amended class action complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against Delta Dental of California in San Francisco County Superior Court. The case settled in May 2018. The complaint alleged breach of covenant of good faith and fair dealing, breach of contract, and requests declaratory and injunctive relief.
